Student Testimonials

These come from end-of-semester, anonymous student evaluations:

"Jesse was fabulous! She addressed each topic matter of factly while remaining respectful and ensuring that the classroom was respectful. That allowed for a safe place to ask questions that may not have been completely appropriate or pc. She then addressed the questions with understanding. The entire experience allowed for growth and understanding in an area where defensiveness and frustration could have easily taken over."
"Jesse was so awesome! I had no idea she was a grad student. She presents herself like an experienced professor. She made us think and provided so many tools that were valuable to learning. I liked the way she implemented more than just things to read. There were a lot of videos and podcasts found within the weekly modules. It was a great way to structure the course! Seriously, this is one of my favorite courses of my college career."
"She was so knowledgeable and very open to everyone's opinions in the class. She was able to deal with bigoted perspectives with a lot of respect and you could tell she was interested in learning from the students just as much as she was in teaching. It makes such a comfortable learning environment and helps students challenge themselves."
"Jessie is an excellent teacher with a clear passion for the topics discussed. The text and additional readings were great, but it might be helpful to find more current examples that help to connect students to the topic at issue. What I appreciated most was her willingness to listen and validate opinions even when they didn't exactly align with her own."
"I loved this professor's involvement and excitement of the course subjects. She was always willing to help out and provide different ways for us students to learn the subject."
